I use 'Public Cable 1.0' as a cable cross-reference and comparison guide for cables from Belden, Tappan, General Cable, and West Penn. The index is excellent because if I have a part number, I don't necessarily have to know whose it is. I just follow the index to the page, find the part - and right there I have other manufacturer's parts as options, whose part number this is; and a specification that is common to all.
